Netflix Stream Team December

Image
Christmas is coming fast, but rather than throw together a list of Christmas related things to watch, I've decided to pick some TV shows that are available on Netflix chosen by myself and hubby that you might enjoy over your Christmas break. What we've done is taken into account that some people may get longer holidays than others. People working in retail don't get near as much time off as teachers, for example. So we've chosen shows that have a varying number of seasons. The thinking is that shows that have more seasons would suit people that are on longer holidays.
 1. "Bates Motel" (1 Season, 10 Episodes).

Bringing Alfred Hitchcock's classic "Psycho" up to date in a modern setting was never going to be easy, but this show pretty much pulls it off. Telling the tale of a young Norman Bates and his beloved Mother. Freddy Highmore plays Norman fantastically, recalling the nervous energy of Anthony Perkins in the original film, and Vera Farmiga s…

Irish Beauty Bloggers Secret Santa Extravaganza 2014 #IrishbbloggersSS2014

Image
This was my first year to take part in the Irish Beauty Bloggers Secret Santa Extravaganza hosted by Aisling of Total Makeup Addict! I can't get over at how exciting the whole process was. Everyone that is taking part this year is using the hashtag #IrishbbloggersSS2014 and the teasers were brilliant.
The big reveal happened last weekend for me when I received the most loveliest of parcels which was extremely thought out which made it extra special for me. So you are probably all wondering who my Secret Santa is?.......My secret Santa is the wonderful Audrey from The Nail Affair! I can not thank Audrey enough for her generosity and the research she did to pick the perfect gifts for me.

I had the fun of shopping for Sharon from Behind Green Eyes and you can head over to see what I surprised her with!

My obsession with nails over the year has blossomed as well as my collection, so I was stunned and over the moon to see the Ciaté Haute House set! The colours are amazing and super pi…

Christmas Memories (Seasonal Linky): This is my Highly Unorthodox Christmas Memory

Image
Bring yourself back to the year 1990, this would have made me six years of age! This was also the year the Kellogg's Christmas Ad with the little blonde girl in the pink onesie was first broadcast. I remember it so well and so vividly, I remember the neighbours and family so excited about the ad because it was me in it (one such neighbour rang our doorbell at 8pm saying they just saw me on it)! There was no mistake it was me and I had the pink onesie.

Mum told me that the ad was filmed a year or two before and that we went to Ardmore Studios in Wicklow where I met the other two kids who were Canadian.
Growing up I loved telling friends and reminding family about my Christmas ad and I took great delight in this. I knew one day Mum and Dad would hand over the royalties (or so I believed) I used to ask is this why we always have Kellogg's Cornflakes in the house (according to mum yes, we got a lifetime supply and they are dads favourite too).
Even when I met my husband in 2007 …

Christmas Arts and Crafts with Lillibug

Image
We are well and truly in the festive spirit right here in LilliWhiteRose HQ! Lillibug is super excited and comes into us every morning around 6am asking if Santa has been or if she can go see him on the choo choo (inspired by multiple viewings of "The Polar Express"). So I decided that maybe Lillibug would like to get creative with a few left over Christmas decoration and this is what we came up with.

What you will need:
1. Scissors 2. Pritt Stick 3. Pencil 4. Tissue Paper 5. Card/Paper (green and gold) 6. Baubles 7. Ribbon 8. Wrapping paper.

How to:
1. Make your frame by using the wrapping paper or any decorative christmassy paper you have and lay it on your tissue paper.
2. Draw a Christmas Tree on your green card and cut it out. Glue it to your tissue paper. For the bucket on the second picture we added silver paper.
3. Glue on your baubles
4. Draw a star on your gold paper and cut out.
5. Add a ribbon to the frame (we just put one on the top left corner).
6. We also had a snowman decor…

Lillibug: November Milestones and Favourites

Image
My baby girl turned 3 last weekend and I still can't believe how fast those years have gone. She is full of fun, excitement, stubbornness and adventure.

We threw a little party for Lillibug and it was a great day for her to have family and friends around and she had an absolute ball of a time. I found the day very emotional and a lot of memories of the day she was born were stirred up inside me again.

I'm so proud of Lillibug and all her milestones over the last three years. Some recent milestones are:

1. She no longer uses her soother as of three weeks now.
2. She sleeps in her big girl bed and the cot has been put in the attic.

Some of Lillibug's Favourite things over the last month have been:

1. "The Polar Express": To be honest I'm surprised as I know some kids who actually were frightened by this movie when it first came out, but she is absolutely obsessed with it.

2. Role play: From pretending to be our Family Doctor, Princess or even a Pirate, Lilybug…

The Christmas Tag

Image
A big thank you to Samantha from All The Buzz for tagging me! Christmas is my favourite time of year and I hope my answers give some insight to how much I do.

1. What is your favourite Christmas movie/s? Oh I have so many but my top ones that I watch every year without fail are: White Christmas Meet Me in St. Louise Miracle on 34th Street (1947) Elf Home Alone The Muppets Christmas Carol
2. Do you open your presents on Christmas eve or on Christmas morning? On Christmas Eve I always got a present of pyjamas off my mum which is still a tradition that has carried on and Lillibug also gets pyjamas on Christmas Eve. Other than that we had to wait till Christmas morning, but only after the fire was lit and it was all cosy.
3. Do you have a favourite Christmas memory? I have so many, but to this day there is one that really sticks out and that was the year I got my Blue Raleigh bike! I was 9 and for the life of me I could not figure out how Santa could possibly have brought it down the chimney. I'…

November Favourites: Beauty, Skincare & Random

Image
Hi Everyone, so sorry for the lack of posts lately but I'm back now and hoping to get back to two posts a week again. I thought it might be nice to start off with my November favourites.
Beauty & Skincare
1. British Beauty Blogger Dream Box 2  (£21.95 sold out) was packed full of amazing goodies and even though I've had it a week I'm still working my way through it, but my goodness there is so many amazing products in it. I really think that Jane and Latest in Beauty are a winning team when it comes the Dream box and will always pick these boxes over any other ones!
2. Trilogy Everything Balm (€16.95) is a beautiful solid oil that melts on contact. I use this mostly at night time as part of my skincare routine. I get really dry skin and this has been a little saviour for times of need. It really is gorgeous used on the cuticles and nails as well.
3. La Roche-Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 (€12.50) has been my friend the last few days after having a reaction to Lillibug's …
