Review: Shiseido Veiled Rouge RD 315 Enchantment & Perfect Rouge RD 555 Spellbound
This year seems to be all about lip products for me, and if last week's posts are anything to go by I'm sure I have loads more to come! These were sent to me a few weeks back to try out and I have to say the more I'm getting to know about Shiseido the more I'm loving the brand. These lipstick are the most expensive and high end in my collection now but does that mean they are worth it?! Well let's find out....
I will start off with Shiseido Veiled Rouge RD 315 Enchantment (€27.00), a lipstick saturated with moisture to leave your lips feeling luscious. The packaging is long a slim and the shape of their symbolic camellia logo which is a lovely little touch. One thing lacking on the packaging for me is that there is no colour sticker or anything to show what colour is inside, so when you have a few of these you will need to check them individually to find the one you are looking for. I can overlook that though because I really like the overall packaging. The veiled rouge lipsticks are sheer in nature but a great day time lipstick for days that you are in a rush, or going for a more natural look. This particular colour is what I would call my perfect nude as it didn't wash my complexion out but complimented it. I loved the pink/coral tone with gold shimmer to it, unfortunately that colour got washed out in my photo but I do have a better swatch below. Lasting power is not great; I possibly get 3 hours wear time before having to top up, but it's really become my go-to lipstick for during the week. This lipstick has the benefit of the Shiseido's Super Hydro-Wrap Vitalizing DE which creates a veil over the lips, so underneath your lips will be getting nourished and replenished. I definitely noticed that my lips were nourished and not zapped of moisture after wearing this, and my lips have been in bits of late.
Can you see the shape of the Camellia logo in the above lipsticks?
The Shiseido lipsticks are a winner for me and I can definitely see myself picking up more over time. They are really comfortable to wear, great shades to choose from, and suit anyone. I would definitely gravitate more towards the Perfect rouge simply for the colour intensity and lasting power, and would definitely feel like I was getting my monies worth. The packaging has it's hits and misses but definitely more hits and it feels like a high end lipstick in your hand.
