Shiseido 7 Lights Powder Illuminator

Press Sample
I was very excited back in November to see that Shiseido was bringing back their rainbow powder in a whole new way. They kept their promise and now we have the 7 Lights Powder Illuminator.

The powder is to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their iconic Rainbow Beauty Powders. In 1917 the powders were a revolutionary concept that graced the beauty tables in Japan. The original range had 7 separate coloured powders with each working like our modern day colour correctors. These have also with limited supply brought back in Japan this year.

The individual powders which are coming in a set won't be easy to get but may still be in other countries at $200, but not to worry. Shiseido's Artistic Director Dick Page has given us an update on the powders in the way of the 7 Lights Powder Illuminator. Made with the modern woman in mind this compact holds all the 7 colours for you to have on the go. As it's all in one compacts it is also more versatile, it can be used for …

Annie Sloan Chalk Paint: Stool Makeover

If you follow me on Facebook or Twitter, you may have noticed my posts on the Annie Sloan Chalk Paint? I was updating a little stool that I had as a child. I've been in the middle of making changes in the house and decided I wanted to update a few bits of furniture to reflect those changes.

I loved taking on this project for myself, and I really enjoyed it. I've never used chalk paint before and popped into a local stockist of Annie Sloan products, and they were great at giving advice. So onto the stool, I firstly gave it a wash down with some soapy water and allowing it to dry. I went in with the first coat of paint after stirring with a lollipop stick and used the shade, Provence. One coat wasn't enough with some of the natural wood still coming through, so I gave it a second coat the next morning. The second coat was more difficult to work with, almost dragging the first coat of paint off. On advice I got on Facebook from Maison Moli a specialist in upcycled furniture,…

Netflix: Stranger Things 2

*Disclaimer: I'm a member of the Netflix Stream Team and for this, I receive a complimentary subscription.  All opinions are my own, and I will be posting once a month in relation to Netflix Stream Team.
One of the less terrible things about 2016 was Netflix's original series "Stranger Things". A paranormal, sci-fi, 80's homage that caught the imagination of younger and older viewers, the show has quickly become on of the true crossover shows that Netflix has put their name to, along with "House of Cards", "Making a Murderer" and "Orange is the New Black".
Halloween will be an exciting time for "Stranger Things" fans, as it's the approximate release date of Season 2 of the 80's set series. What we know so far is very little apart from the following: The new series takes place a year after the events of the first, with almost all of the main cast returning, with a few new additions. As you'll see from the images…

January Favourites 2017

I'm back everyone! It has been so long since I last had a blog post up, but it's good to be back. I've kept up with you mostly on Instagram over the last few months. it's one platform I never get bored of using. I thought the best post to do for my first post back, and the first post of 2017, would be some favourites.

I've had the majority of these products a while now, the newest item I have is the Clinique Crayola Chubby stick and my first time to try one of the chubby sticks. All of these I'm reaching for the most and are working for me and what I need. I will admit I have worn little to no makeup the last few months, but when I do the following are what I know I will reach for time after time.

I'm a huge fan of the First Aid Beauty range since I tried out some of their products earlier last year. New to me this year (thanks to hubby) is the Facial Radiance Pads (€13.95 - €28.95) and Ultra Repair Hydra-Firm Sleeping Cream (€35.95). Of late my cheeks hav…
